Hadestown

Hadestown at Tennessee Theatre

Two love stories, one stage, and a question that cuts through centuries: can hope outlast fate? Hadestown returns to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Sunday, April 25, 2027, at 1:30 PM. Anaïs Mitchell's retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth alongside the tale of Hades and Persephone offers a chance to see storytelling that feels both ancient and immediate.

Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, Hadestown brings a mythology you may remember from school into a theatrical experience shaped by Mitchell's songs and Rachel Chavkin's direction. The production asks what happens when young dreamers collide with gods who've grown weary, and the musical score carries the question through to an answer you'll want to witness yourself.

A Sunday matinee gives you a reason to plan an afternoon differently. Bring someone who loves live theater or a companion you've been meaning to spend time with outside the usual routine. The show gives you something to anticipate together and a story worth discussing afterward.

Let two myths remind you why theater still matters. Explore ticket options for Hadestown in Knoxville and reserve your place at a story that refuses to let go.
