The Sound of Music at Tennessee Theatre
Maria chooses to leave the abbey, follow her heart, and discover what life holds beyond the convent walls. The Sound of Music comes to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Wednesday, March 24, 2027, at 7:30 PM. If you've loved this Rodgers & Hammerstein musical for years, here's your chance to see the von Trapp family's story unfold on stage.
Three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien directs this production. The score includes Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and Edelweiss—songs that have stayed with audiences for decades. Hearing them performed live adds something you don't get from a recording or a screen: the immediacy of voices filling the theater and the energy of musicians playing in the same room.
Make this the night you bring someone who deserves a proper evening out. A parent who introduced you to the show. A partner who values a beautiful story well told. Choosing the occasion together gives you both something to look forward to and a reason to mark the date.
Let your affection for the musical guide the decision. Check ticket options for The Sound of Music in Knoxville and plan a theater night with the people you'd most like beside you.
