The Great Gatsby - Theatrical Production

The Great Gatsby - Theatrical Production at Tennessee Theatre

Gatsby throws his parties hoping Daisy will walk through the door. You can walk through yours to see the green light, the jazz and the heartbreak play out live on stage. The Great Gatsby opens at Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Tuesday, December 15, 2026, at 7:30 PM. This Tony Award-winning musical transforms F. Scott Fitzgerald's story of longing and wealth into a theatrical production built for a night out.

Director Marc Bruni and choreographer Dominique Kelley shape a production designed to make the era feel immediate. The jazz- and pop-influenced original score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen underscores the story instead of overwhelming it. For anyone drawn to Gatsby's mixture of glamour and tragedy, the appeal is watching the characters navigate impossible choices with a live ensemble bringing their world to the present.

Pick the person who'd appreciate this one. Someone who first encountered Gatsby in school and remembers the final pages. A date who loves the music, fashion and contradictions of the Twenties. This is the sort of evening you can plan around, giving both of you something to look forward to before the calendar fills.

Let the music, the production and the story settle the question. Explore ticket options for The Great Gatsby and put a December theater night on your schedule.
