Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! at Tennessee Theatre

A bride wants to know who her father is. Her mother's past holds three possibilities. ABBA's catalog provides the soundtrack. Mamma Mia! returns to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Sunday, February 21, 2027, at 1:30 PM. If you've been drawn to this musical for over two decades—or you're finally ready to see what the celebration is about—here's your chance to experience the story that turned feel-good theater into a worldwide phenomenon.

The appeal rests on more than nostalgia. Mamma Mia! uses songs like Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on Me and The Winner Takes It All to explore love, friendship and the surprises that surface when the past walks back into your life. The Greek island setting frames a wedding weekend where three men arrive, each one a candidate for fatherhood, and a mother confronts choices she made years earlier. The story gives ABBA's music a second life, turning familiar melodies into moments of revelation and joy.

This is a Sunday matinee that suits the people you'd enjoy spending an afternoon with. A parent who introduced you to ABBA. A friend who loves musicals that don't take themselves too seriously. A partner who appreciates a story where generosity and forgiveness win. The outing gives you a reason to gather and a show that sends you home smiling.

Let the music and the story make your decision. Find ticket options for Mamma Mia! in Knoxville and plan a theater date that celebrates connection, surprises and the songs that still get people singing along.
