Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Masterworks

Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Masterworks at Tennessee Theatre

Three composers. Three stories. One orchestra. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra presents Masterworks at Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Friday, March 19, 2027, at 7:30 PM. Guest conductor Noam Aviel leads a program built around dramatic musical storytelling, from vengeful spirits to a fevered Romantic vision. If you're drawn to orchestral music that carries narrative weight, here's your chance to hear three works connected by their theatrical ambition.

The evening opens with Giacomo Puccini's La Tregenda, an orchestral scene from his first opera depicting supernatural spirits seeking revenge on unfaithful lovers. Concertmaster William Shaub then steps forward as soloist in Camille Saint-Saëns' Violin Concerto No. 3, one of the composer's most enduring works. The program concludes with Hector Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique, a groundbreaking symphony that redefined orchestral storytelling in the Romantic era. Each piece offers a different emotional landscape, giving you a program with range and intensity.

Bring someone who appreciates music with a story to tell. A partner who values an evening that asks for focus and rewards attention. A friend who introduced you to Berlioz or who's been meaning to hear a live orchestra. The program gives you a reason to plan an outing together, and Tennessee Theatre offers a setting worth the occasion.
