Death Becomes Her

Death Becomes Her at Tennessee Theatre

What happens when two rivals discover the secret to eternal youth and take it too far? Death Becomes Her comes to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Sunday, November 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Based on the 1992 film, this Tony Award-winning musical comedy follows famous actress Madeline Ashton and her best frenemy Helen Sharp as they compete for beauty, youth and attention with the help of a mysterious potion from Viola Van Horn. If you enjoy comedy that skewers vanity with style, this musical gives you something sharp to look forward to.

Direction and choreography by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli bring the story to the stage with energy and precision. The appeal is watching a familiar premise—two women who will do anything to stay young—transform into musical theater that knows how to land a joke. For fans drawn to comedy with bite, Death Becomes Her offers a night of laughter built on characters willing to go to absurd lengths.

Invite someone who appreciates a good comedy night. A friend who quotes the film. A partner who enjoys musicals that don't take themselves seriously. Choosing the show together gives you a reason to spend an evening at Tennessee Theatre and share the experience with someone whose company makes it better.
