About Knoxville Convention Center
Knoxville Convention Center stands beside World’s Fair Park between downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee campus. The 500,000-square-foot facility opened in 2002 and contains exhibition halls, meeting rooms, a lecture hall and ballroom space. Public shows, conventions, competitions and private functions can occupy different parts of the building. An event’s room name and registration instructions are therefore more useful than treating the center as one fixed-seat auditorium.

Plan Your Visit to Knoxville Convention Center
How is the building arranged?
Exhibit Halls A and B can be combined or divided, and the center also contains a Grand Ballroom, meeting suites and a separate lecture hall. Exhibition booths, banquet tables, theatre-style chairs and sports courts require different layouts. Use the event organizer’s floor plan to locate the activity or seating area included with your admission.
The lecture hall has fixed cushioned theatre-style seats and additional accessible spaces. Other rooms are configured for the event, so the center’s overall size is not a useful attendance or seating figure for an individual show.
Which parking and pedestrian routes are recommended?
The street address is 701 Henley Street. The visitor guide identifies Locust Street Garage at 540 Locust Street, connected toward the convention center by the Sky Bridge. Garage entrances are on Locust and Walnut streets. Its published free periods begin after 6 p.m. on weeknights and include weekends; check current signs and any special-event arrangements.
The building has access from Clinch Avenue, Cumberland Avenue and World’s Fair Park. Review the room and entrance named by the organizer before choosing a drop-off point. The floor-plan page shows the pedestrian connections and the building’s separate concourses.
Where is accessible arrival available?
The center identifies accessible parking on the Cumberland Avenue side in the Ballroom Drop-Off, marked with an ADA sign. Elevators connect event levels, and the lecture-hall concourse includes access to a family restroom and nursing room. Contact the venue about the route and accommodations appropriate to the room you will use.
What should I expect at entry?
Ticketing and registration are set by each event. Security checks may include bags, clothing and electronic wanding. The venue asks visitors to arrive early and prohibits weapons, outside food and beverages, and several large or disruptive items. Read the organizer’s instructions as well as the building policy.
Are concessions and Wi-Fi available?
Concessions open for selected events, with food and beverage service handled by the venue’s exclusive provider. The center is cashless. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered in ballrooms, meeting rooms and concourses on the second and third floors; connect to the designated free network and accept its terms.
World’s Fair Park borders the venue, while the building’s terraces and glass concourses overlook the surrounding downtown area. These spaces have different uses during events, so do not assume a terrace or meeting suite is part of a particular admission.
