Concertmaster Series: Fire and Frost- Russian Visons

Concertmaster Series: Fire and Frost- Russian Visons at Knoxville Museum of Art

Russian chamber music arrives at the Knoxville Museum of Art when the Concertmaster Series presents Fire and Frost: Russian Visions on Wednesday, February 3, 2027, at 7:00 PM. William Shaub and a small ensemble of Knoxville Symphony musicians perform works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky in a setting designed for conversation and close listening. If you're drawn to chamber music, this is your opportunity to hear familiar composers in an intimate space.

The program includes Prokofiev's Sonata for Two Solo Violins, Shostakovich's Octet, and Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence. These pieces give you a reason to follow the arc of Russian Romanticism into the twentieth century, from Tchaikovsky's lush string writing to Prokofiev's angular dialogue. The Museum of Art brings visual beauty to the surroundings; the musicians bring precision and expression to the instruments.

Choose this as the evening you introduce someone to chamber music or deepen a shared appreciation. A Wednesday night at the museum offers a reason to step away from routine and put culture at the center of your plans. The small scale of the ensemble rewards attention, and the program offers three contrasting composers to consider.

Consider the person whose company would make the music more memorable. Explore ticket options for Fire and Frost: Russian Visions and plan a chamber-music evening in Knoxville.
