Concertmaster Series: Cathedrals in the Sky

Concertmaster Series: Cathedrals in the Sky at Knoxville Museum of Art

Close your eyes and listen. Not to a playlist or a podcast, but to four musicians in a room with you, working through ideas that deserve your full attention. The Knoxville Symphony presents Concertmaster Series: Cathedrals in the Sky at the Knoxville Museum of Art on Wednesday, April 7, 2027, at 7:00 PM. The chamber format makes exchanges between a small group of musicians the focus of the evening.

William Shaub and Gordon Tsai bring two violins to Sarasate's Navarra, a work built for agility and conversation between players. Sarah Senn joins on cello, Kevin Class on piano, and the evening moves through Roxanna Panufnik, Lucas Richman's Psalm 23, Olivier Messiaen's Theme and Variations, and Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor. You're not choosing background music. You're choosing a break from the ordinary week and a reason to pay closer attention.

Invite someone who values quality over volume. A partner who appreciates craft. A friend who still believes evenings are worth planning. The museum setting and chamber format make this the kind of night that stands out when you look back at your calendar. You're giving each other something to look forward to and a reason to slow down together.

Let the program convince you. Find ticket options for Cathedrals in the Sky and spend an evening listening to musicians who care about what they play.
