A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage

Ebenezer Scrooge locked his door on kindness. Three spirits will unlock it. The Clarence Brown Theatre Company stages Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage in Knoxville on Tuesday, December 8, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Watch a lonely miser discover generosity, compassion and the possibility of joy as the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come deliver one extraordinary chance to change.

Director Patrick Lanczki brings the Edward Morgan and Joseph Hanreddy adaptation to life with music by John Tanner. Humor, heart and theatrical spectacle add warmth to a story you may already know by heart. The ghosts provide the visitations, but Scrooge's choice to rediscover what matters gives you a character worth following beyond the holiday trappings.

Invite the people you'd like to spend more time with this season. A theater date gives you a reason to gather before holiday plans fill the calendar. For families considering a younger theatergoer's visit, the production is recommended for ages 4 and older, and children under 4 are not permitted. Choose the outing with your own family's readiness in mind.

Make room for a Knoxville holiday tradition with a story at its heart. Check ticket options for A Christmas Carol and plan an evening together at the theater.
