A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage

Ebenezer Scrooge learns something worth knowing: it's not too late to choose a different life. Three ghosts arrive on Christmas Eve to show him the cost of his bitterness and the grace still within reach. The Clarence Brown Theatre Company stages Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol at Clarence Brown Theatre - Mainstage in Knoxville on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Follow a miser through one extraordinary night as he rediscovers generosity, compassion and joy.

Director Patrick Lanczki stages the Edward Morgan and Joseph Hanreddy adaptation, with music by John Tanner. The story gains warmth from John Horner's lighting, Kevin Depinet's scenic design and the theatrical spectacle that brings Victorian London to life. Scrooge's transformation is the center of the evening, but the spirits, humor and holiday atmosphere give you more than one reason to care.

Bring the people who make your holidays meaningful. A Saturday theater date gives you time together before the season fills your calendar. For families considering younger guests, the production is recommended for ages 4 and older, and children under 4 are not permitted. Fire code requires all guests to occupy their own seat. Plan with your family's circumstances in mind.

Let Scrooge's second chance remind you to build your own traditions. Check ticket options for A Christmas Carol in Knoxville and reserve an evening with the people you'd like beside you.
