Trombone Shorty And Orleans Avenue
Trombone Shorty And Orleans Avenue at Tennessee Theatre
Brass, funk and a New Orleans point of view. Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue bring the Shorty Gras Tour to Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Wednesday, February 24, 2027, at 7:30 PM. If that combination is what draws you to the music, this booking offers a chance to follow it into a live concert.
Troy Andrews grew up in New Orleans’ Tremé neighborhood, where second-line traditions helped shape his approach. With Orleans Avenue, he connects that background to funk, soul and jazz improvisation. The draw is the meeting of those musical languages: brass at the center, a band around it and space for ideas to move between players.
For a listener who enjoys musicians building on a shared rhythm, that approach offers more to follow than one melody. You can attend for the New Orleans connection, the band’s mixture of styles or the chance to hear Andrews lead the performance. His musical identity gives the outing its focus.
