Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Handel's Messiah

Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Handel's Messiah at Tennessee Theatre

Handel’s music brings four solo voices, a chorus and an orchestra into conversation. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra presents Handel's Messiah at Tennessee Theatre on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 2:30 PM. Conductor Aram Demirjian leads the orchestra, four vocal soloists and the Knoxville Choral Society through an oratorio that has marked the season for centuries. If this work is already part of your life, here's your chance to hear it performed live in Knoxville.

Soprano Song Hee Lee, alto Emily Marvosh, tenor Brian Giebler and bass Kevin Burdette bring Handel's vocal lines to the stage, supported by the full orchestra and chorus. The combination gives listeners several musical voices to follow, with solo passages, choral writing and orchestral color offering different ways into the work. It is a reason to make live music part of your November.

A Sunday matinee gives you flexibility other performance times don't. Invite someone who shares your appreciation for the work, or bring family members who might be curious about their first Messiah. The afternoon performance leaves your evening open and lets you make the concert part of a day you'll look forward to, not a schedule you're trying to squeeze in.
